Our experience with community plans, ordinances, decision analytics and scenario planning started on day one of the firm’s existence. We lead these projects from the front, and we also team with old friends to fill specific roles on consultant teams. Matt, Nadine or Ian lead all aspects of the planning process for the firm: visioning, public participation, plan development, decision analytics, local adoption hearings, and coordination with county, regional and state agencies. Our grassroots approach energizes the community, and our ability to capture their vision in a document that does not overburden local government staff and elected officials positions
everyone well for implementation.
We balance cutting edge experience completing projects across the country with an understanding of the local character and community values that should be protected when planning for the future. The map below highlights areas where team members Matt, Nadine and Ian have most recently completed community plans, ordinances and scenario planning studies (or portions thereof). Some of these projects (noted with orange dots) were completed when Matt was owner and principal of Seven Hills Town Planning Group, Inc. (the precursor to City Explained, Inc.) or Ian worked at Placeways, LLC (assets acquired by City Explained, Inc. in 2016).
